My niece was baptized last week and I was able to make a few photos of her in her darling dress after her baptism. She is so cute and looked almost angelic all in white. I love the photo with the sun behind her. It creates a halo all the way around her and she almost glows.

Lauren looks so angelic. You captured her beautifully. Kirk, you are a true artist in every sense of the word. It was super fun for me to be there and watch you take these pictures.October 18, 2010 – 10:10 am
I was in Oregon last week for a wedding that I was photographing and spent a few days relaxing on the coast. This was my first time in Oregon, but it was everything I could hope for and more. I have always been a city guy. I like the architecture, the noise, the vitality, and the anonymity. After spending a few days in a tiny little coastal town, where everyone seemed to know each other, I may be rethinking city life. You are surrounded by so much lush vegetation and beautiful scenery, and not to mention the ocean. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning walks on the beach with the rain and crashing waves. It was mind-bending. I hope some of these photos can do the Oregon coast justice.

I know I’ve said it before, but you really are AMAZING! The way that you capture “life”, color, textures, etc. is mind boggling to me. I love how you “see” things. These photos really are breath taking.September 24, 2010 – 1:05 pm

Amazing photographer!!!October 9, 2010 – 8:21 pm
I am on my way to Northern Wisconsin and have a three hour layover. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time wondering around the airport taking pictures.

Kirk, it’s interesting, but when I was in O’Hare awhile back, I took the same photo of the flags. It’s such a neat representation of uniting the world. You have an amazing eye for photography and I love viewing your photos.October 14, 2010 – 6:41 pm
I thought I would share a few photos while spending time on the Oregon coast. Although it has been raining the whole time, it is so pretty here. I love the quaint feel of the town and being a block away from the ocean is so exciting.

Beautiful!October 9, 2010 – 8:21 pm
Every day I need to transfer or have access to a number of different files. Perhaps I created some new logo concepts for a client at home, but don’t have time to prepare an email to accompany the PDF. Or I have a photo that I took with my iPhone, but I want to transfer it to my iPad. Maybe I created a document at work and want to have a copy available for later use. There are many ways that I could have access to these files. I could email them to myself, I could FTP them to my website or transfer them to thumb drive (this not really being a choice with the iPhone and iPad).
For the last month, I have been using a service called Dropbox. This service, like its name implies, is an online storage that you can use as a drop box. You can put almost anything in this box and retrieve it later. Cool, I know, but where it really gets good is that it syncs between multiple devices. My dropbox is synced between my iPhone, iPad, MacBook, home Mac and work PC. Wherever I am I can access my dropbox. Earlier today I saw a tweet that linked to PDF article about industrial design. I was on my work PC and wanted to read this article later. So instead of emailing it to myself or trying to use instapaper or evernote, I just dropped it into my dropbox. Later during lunch I opened the dropbox app on my iPad and opened the PDF article to read in iBooks.
I never know when I will need to access a lot of different files and having the ability to easily have all of these documents in a single place is life changing. I have clients all the time asking me to email them this or that, and being able to email the file, even over a cell network, really gets noticed. It takes one minute to do, but to the customer it makes them feel like they are that important that you will drop everything you are doing to get them the file. Easy.
The uses for this service are endless. This happens to be one of those services that are so simple and easy to use that you wonder how you ever made it through life without it. They have three packages: Basic (2 GB) free, Pro 50 (50 GB) $9.99 a month, and Pro 100 (100 GB) $19.99 a month. Go check them out. You won’t be disappointed. Dropbox

Kirk, one of the many things I love about you is your delight in sharing your knowledge with others. Dad & I always look to you for tech advice as you are so in the know. Having a love of learning is a great talent and one you are always developing. We love your zest and enthusiasm for life.October 14, 2010 – 6:39 pm
[...] The app is compatible with your iPhone and iPad, and it syncs with your Dropbox account. Awesome! You know how much I love Dropbox. [...]July 8, 2011 – 2:26 pm
