My aunt Kathy was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be starting radiation next week. It has been a very trying time for her and her family, especially as this will be her second time. We saw her the other night when we all got together for dinner. She was in great spirits and had more fun teasing her husband who had sliced off the end of his finger. (That is a another story.) It is amazing how being together as friends and family can really give you the support you need to make it through these tough times.
She posted this to her Facebook wall this morning, “Had my radiation mask made today and I am happy to inform you all it is Tinkerbell green; Lily my grand -daughter would love the color. The appointment went better than I thought, you never know what to expect.
“Radiation will start on Thursday, July 5. I just want to get it started so I can get it done. The hospital staff and office staff and doctors have been awesome! They are always making sure I am informed on what is going on and anyone else who is with me and if I or someone else have any questions they answer the questions.
“Thank you all for your prayers and love, I really appreciate them. I know the Lord has been there to help me. ‘I can do hard things.’ “
